Textra-exclusive nicknames for contacts
I, as well as a lot of other Android users, configure our contacts list with symbols or emojis in order to group them effectively. In cases such as these, as well as others where people may want to add personality to their texts, it would be great if we could alter a contacts name so that it changes ONLY within Textra. This would save reconfiguring the contacts lists (which can be saved in multiple places if not careful!) and leave Textra with a smoother appearance overall

yes plsss just like in fb messenger! it adds more personality to the conversations and you wouldnt have to change the in-device contact that would also change the contact's name in all the other apps

Yes, I preface all of my contacts with 1-3 letters based on their general group - CC for my college, FAM for family, S for skype, etc. It's just a bit annoying that it says "Message CC" for all of my college friends, instead of their names. However, it's 1) not worth changing all my contacts and 2) not worth undoing the good order I have my list in.
