Delay message to send later
A message will be created but will not send until a later time or day. Great for reminding someone of a occurrence on a Sunday but you create the message on the Wednesday before and it won't send to the person until the Sunday morning reminding them and a preset time.

I've tried this function, but every time I set a delayed delivery time and hit OK, the time reverts back to Now on the screen. Is there a setting in android that needs to change to make it effective?

That's already a thing. Compose your message and hit the plus sign on the left (like you're going to add a picture). A few icons in you'll see a clock. That's your scheduler.
