Right now whenever I get a message, Textra plays the notification sound, turns on my screen, and adds a notification with the message. All well and good. When someone sends me 2, 3, or more texts back to back, all of this happens 2, 3, or more times back to back. It can get annoying.

I would love an option that works like so when a new message comes in:
1) If the message's conversation has no unread messages, deliver notifications as normal.
2) If the conversation does have unread messages, do not play the notification sound, do not turn on the screen, but do update the notification to include the new message.
3) Once you open the app and check the conversation, or once you swipe away the notification, clear the unread counter and go back to 1.

This would be helpful for me and for anyone else who has people sending them multiple texts back to back. We would only hear the phone go off once, but we would still see the messages in the notification as they come in.
