In Textra 3.41 rolling out this week we have added a new preference, see Settings > Web Previews (Off, Sent, Received, All). So configure whatever suits!

This is annoying as F*ck. Why there isn't a toggle to turn this feature off is beyond me. And why introduce a gesture nobody really wants?
