Instead of having the hide contents option working the way it is now (if active it hides contents on every screen aside from the app), change it to be split for when the phone is locked and when it is unlocked. I think the setting should be able to hide contents on the lock screen, but be seeable if the screen is unlocked. I know for me that would help in both the privacy and convenience departments.
