Add an option to have a pane that shows all the messaging threads (basically the contact pictures) you have to the left of the messaging thread you are currently in. Then the user can tap on the different contact icons to switch between the different threads without going back to the full thread list. This was a great feature on Win 10 mobile's messaging app and is sorely missed. when you have a lot of conversations going it saves a lot of time and swipes/back button pressing. You can also show unread badge on each picture as well. A lot of Windows Mobile converts use your app and if you added this feature i am sure you would have even more happy users.
