I have a notched phone (LG G7), and its built-in notch-hiding feature only works for the UI itself. Apps override it. Currently, the only way to make Textra have a black notification bar is to set the main app color to black, which is what I'm currently using as a workaround. However, I'd like to be able to change it without making the notch evident. That is, I'd like to be able to set a separate color (black) for the notification bar, while keeping my main color.
