i also wanted that idea.
Since i am a very private person, i wanted to have a security with individual contacts in my phone so that i won't have to worry if someone will borrow my phone. because he/she will not be able to read the sms. i'm looking forward for the coming version and i hope that you will consider my suggestion. thanks!. ;)

It would be a excellent feature to lock sms by pin or phrase.so that nobody could sniff into your private sms.

Definitely a private box for anything from specific contacts, with customisable notifications from them.

If you have android you can download an app called app lock or there's a really cool one called audio manager which is a volume control-disguised locking app.

I agree, this would be a great addition to your app. I enjoyed such option a lot in HandCent, although Textra is my personal preference (not so bloated). I would love to be able to select some contacts from whom there'd be no notification of any texts, they would simply go right into a password-protected box.

Textra messaging app needs a security lock feature. it would be really nice if that option is added.

This messaging app is awesome and chic...I really really do hope you get the private box and an option to put a pin lock onto some message threads.
