Option to send long SMS messages as MMS message
Along side the option to split SMS messages, I would like to have the option to send a text MMS message if the characters exceed 160. This would come in handy for messages with alot of emoticons and other random things.
This has been completed in v3.22 of Textra. It’s a global setting (for all contacts) as well as customizable on a per contact basis (for example you only need it for sending to friends on Verizon network if you are on t-mobile). Out this week.

Sometimes I send multiple paragraphs to people and because of my carrier it splits my long texts into multiple texts and when the person receives all these text messages sometimes they are received jumbled up and out of order and it's very confusing for the recipient to understand my long text message. It would be nice if I could just convert my long SMS into a MMS so I know that the recipient is getting my texts in a long message.

I love textra but other texting apps have this option, i really hate sending multiple messages all of them split up, sometimes they don't even come through in the right order. Would LOVE to be able to send long sms as MMS messages. +10000 votes

I have sms set NOT to break them up and had two clients recently complain. It;s embarrassing and unprofessional to send one message and it to appear to the recipient and nearby colleagues that they just got 30 texts in the span if 5 seconds. This is unquestionably the best messaging app but this is a deal breaker. It as got to say something when your customers are begging you not to force them off the platform...Please address...or better yet tell me its something I can change a;rady.

This is basically already an option.

Surely this isn't a difficult piece of code to write? I will switch to Google Messenger until this is added.

I can't believe this is not an option yet. I'm tired of my friends complaining about my texts coming in several little texts all out of order. I'm also tired of getting text in that same manner. It's a pain trying to piece together 10 little text messages that are all out of order. I love textra but this is a major game changer for me.

This would make like a lot easier/ stock has it on every carrier where you can manually attach a blank slide that makes it mms.. Even that would work

I had to go back to stock. Ugh.

A long SMS message between AT&T customers using the stock messaging app for sending are received intact. The same message sent by the same app from an AT&T customer to a Verizon customer gets chopped up.
The requester is asking for an option (preference) to be added to Textra.
Some service providers bill differently for SMS vs MMS so some users prefer to use one over the other. This is not a one size fits all situation.

Just turn split long messages off! Simple!! Why you all stressing and your message will still be sent as an SMS so you won't get charged for MMS messaging

It's a shame but I can't use this app until it has this option...Both 8sms and Qsms have this feature but they aren't as feature rich as Textra. Can't see why it hasn't been added yet!
