Ability to delete all (Select all) messages
From the selection view where you select messages if you could then delete all, it would be great if there was a "Select all" button as well to select all messages when you want to clean up the messages.

You delete the convo instead.

I deleted Textra and that works too! Congrats on the great suggestion!

That is not completed. Select all messages is used to select the majority of messages and deselect a few. For example, i a conversation with 200 messages, it is sometimes deisrable to delete all but the most recent (say 20 messages). Currently, Textra requires a manual selection of 180 messages to accomplish that task. Other message apps with "select all" option make it easy to select all messages, deselect the newest 20 messages and delete the 180 selected ones. Deleting the convo does not provide a solution for the select all messages request. Need ability to select all for deleting and forwarding.

How to select and delete all messages?

I found a way to do this.
1. Go into the conversation, and Select and Lock the messages you want to keep.
2. Go back out to Conversation View and delete the conversation. Your locked messages will not be deleted.
3. Go into the conversation again and Select and Unlock the individual messages that you locked in Step 1.This is much easier than individually selecting hundreds of messages in a conversation to delete...

Yes but if you have a lot of text and you want to keep a few this would be very helpful.

I don't want to delete ALL messages. Just some within a conversation. Can I do that in Tetra?

who is the idiot who made it NON intuitive in the first place?
I want to be able to select the messages and DELETE THEM ALL
I get thousands of emails every week and I need to delete them to avoid scrolling back through alerts that are long past. This most recent version 12/2015 sucks in this respect.
Yes you can left swipe and then select all, but it still won't delete the messages even after selecting the trash can and even after holding down on the trash can and getting a HIGHLIGHTED delete popup underneath the trashcan icon.
What ever happened to select all and delete all? What ever happened to function instead of feature?

But what if I need to keep few messages and delete the rest (numbers in hundreds)

Instead of unclicking 10. There already is similar functionality to delete all individuals (the double check). Doesn't exist within an individual's messages!
It should! -

Not a good solution. But if you want to keep ten out of 100 messages?? You need to click on 90 messages instead of on clicking clicking 10

Not sure if eveyone finally figured this out. I am loving TEXTRA but I also thought I couldnt delete multiple messages. fromthe string i was able to figure out. So when you swipe 1 message to left and see trash can.. HOLD DOWN/LONG PRESS on that trash can...this will then open up all other texts you have and will be able to select or deselect full messages from other senders. If you want to select all there are 2 double check marks at bottom right side of screen that will let select all messages. i hope this helps

ok ... but what if you want to 'select all' to lock messages so you won't delete messages you want to keep by accident. selecting one message at a time is too time consuming. thanks in advance.
