Option to use native emoji
Some phones have native emoji support (i.e. Sense 5.5 and android 4.4). These look much better than the iOS styled ones and I'd much prefer those.

Stock Android Emojis are seriously hideous! They are like fat little toads and half the time I can't even work out what they mean. The iOS and twitter style are so much better. Leave it as is

Emoji's generally do not send anything other than a "code" to indicate what Emoji is to be displayed. There could be a setting to use 'standard' Emoji (send the code) or to send 'non-standard' Emoji as MMS. This option exists in a number of the competition's products.

An option to use the Twitter emoji would be awesome! They have the same expressions as the iOS emoji but fit much better into the material design look.

with the material design redesign of the app, the native emoji fit from a design consistency standpoint much better than the iOS emoji

On Android 4.4 it'd be great if instead of the Return key the system emoji could be the default. I know I can pull this up with a long press but it slows things down.

Yes, you can choose Android emojis but they turn out to be iOS emojis and I would just like the option to either switch and choose from one or the other or just have it default to native Android emojis and not iOS ones. Thanks!

it would be nice to have the android emoji/emoticon when you press the ''+" button. Instead of that being only designated to the emoji plugin app.

Click and hold the return arrow. This should popup the emoticon faces and allow you to choose those. It works for me. Nexus 5 4.4.2
