Smilies key instead of next line
8sms and probably some other messaging clients have a setting, where you can choose a keyboard mode, ie. what button defaults in bottom right corner of keyboard [where enter should be] smilies or enter [new line], i use smilies a lot, so it would be handy to have this kind of setting in textra, now it defaults for new line [seriously, who uses newline in sms?:)]

I totally support this idea. Chomp has this option "smiley or enter?". There is no reason to only have one option in Textra. The user could choose what the button will be according to his needs. Exactly like in Chomp sms. Someone could say "but you have emoji in the + button". No! Smiley is not emoji and doesn't work as emoji. One Smiley takes a few characters ( 3 for example ) while one emoji spends 70 or 90 characters ( don't remember exactly). Please implement this simple suggestion for us who use smileys and not emoji.

Enter key is very important to add new line making message legibility. So kindly don't remove enter key. I trust there is already option for smiley insert.
I don't like Google messenger app for same reason that there is no enter key option. Everything I need to write in one line which sometime not good , especially for long messages.

If I'm not mistaken this is an option from the keyboard not textra?

I agree. Make it so please. Why do I need a next line key in a text message that shouldn't really be very long the way an email would be.

I would love too see this feature added to, or at least have an option to choose a smiley button, next line, or send.

having an option to show emoji/smiley key instead of "Enter" would be awesome
