Copy and paste of text in sms
Would like to know if you can add copy and paste from SMS? Love the app but find if I need to copy text or address from messages I have to go back to the messaging app for that functionality. For example if I need to copy a number for an email or something I have to go back to stock.
Rolling out in release v3.25 now. If you cannot wait, please email developer@textra.me

I really like this suggestion. Customizing bubble styles and fonts would make conversations feel more personal instead of looking the same for everyone. A lot of users already enjoy expressing themselves through unique text styles on social media and games. I’ve seen people use tools like https://thestylishname.com/
to create Unicode-based font styles and symbols they can copy and paste easily. Bringing that kind of flexibility directly into Textra would definitely enhance user creativity and individuality. -

You still can't select parts of the text to copy e.g. phone number. Least to say click to phone dial it in.

Thanks! Maybe a functional UI improvement. The current way this is done has excessive steps.

Everyone saying it still doesn't work, you're doing it wrong (because the design isn't very good).
Single tap the message. Then press Copy. Then at that point you can adjust the selection to select words, etc.

Doesn't work. This is necessary for anyone who receives texts with codes, names, phone nos, addresses, etc. I'll have to look for a different app. Anyone can recommend?

This is a necessity for me. I love the simplicity of how you set it up.

..same issue here :/
(google keyboard on LG G4 phone)
Unable to copy parts of incoming txt messages. its either all or nothing.
My horrible workaround is to copy the whole incoming message, paste it in the reply field, select the text i need, copy it, (delete the rest of the text) and then paste the part I copied.
..there has to be another, faster/simpler way?! -

Copy and paste is already part of Android. Textra doesn't need this. I do it all the time. Just long press on a word in the text, and a dialog pops up. Long press again to paste. Where have you people been?

I also must have the copy and paste feature, please add it. In the meantime I'm looking for a different app. Glad I found this conversation so I know that Textra really doesn't have this feature

My query - Please add the facility to select parts of text in a SMS like phone number, address etc for copy-pasting, searching on the web, direct calling, etc.... and add this to a long press menu when you long press on the text.
This is what the dev answered -
Thanks Ankur, there is no 3rd party SMS apps that currently can do this we're aware of, pls let us know if you know different.
Thanks, we'd appreciate that!

Glad I didn't have to make this request myself.
To clarify though: it would be nice to be able to copy an individual section of a text message instead of having to copy the whole thing.
Example: I get a lot of reference jobs so I'm often being text phone numbers and email addresses. Not everyone is nice enough to always send them in a format that the phone recognizes as a phone number or email, in which case I have to switch back and forth between apps, or copy the entire message, paste it in the text field and then copy the portion I want.
Having the ability to copy and paste any selection we make is something the majority of messaging services already provide and seeing as this is such a superior messaging platform, I would appreciate the option.

You can do this already. Long press a message and then the three little dots in the upper right corner are a dialog box for copy and paste etc.

User: Single tap a message for copy/paste or long press and use the options in the top right.
Dev: This interaction is opposite the usual style with long press used for copy/paste elsewhere. Although your way is better now that I know it there needs to be some better documentation regarding it. Like: "Tap aessage to interact with it or long press for further options"
