I had to reinstall the app, and I don't see this setting anywhere. Did they get rid of it! I like visually knowing when I have an unread text!

The numeric counter notification dot disappeared several months ago. I tried to fix it, but gave up. Still miss the feature. Counter dot works perfectly on Gmail, Whatsapp, Instagram, but not Textra.

Any ideas to fix it?

Cannot get an Unread Message Count on the Textra icon on my home screen. I have looked through every App setting, Notifications setting and Textra setting. Sure do miss that feature. I had it on my old phone. Cannot get it to work on my new phone.

I have an LG Premier. I found out that if you select Rounded Icons, it will not show badge number. Use the original shape and it does. Weird!

Be nice to show unread messages first rather than have to scroll through all kept messages!

I had the same problem but figured how to fix it on Android 8.1.0 LG Q7+
I went to settings > General > Apps & Notifications > Notifications > Icon badges >
Show with number > OK
Now I see the number of texts on the icon

Admin comment is typical how about explaining what the comment MEANS

I used to have a new message count and this week it disappeared. I have an older Galaxy J3 prime and no update have taken place except textra updates. What gives. I am a pro user and will have to change messaging app rather than buying new phone. Please help or send bug fix!!!

I have no number of unread messages on the icon on the home screen. I have the Motorola moto g6 with Oreo OS. I'm using the pro version of the program. Is there a setting that I must activate in order to get it to appear?

Textra showed unread message count on my s8 until 2 days ago!!

I just got a OnePlus 6 & not getting any unread messages count on the Textra icon at all. It only shows the unread count once I select the icon & then it lists the conversations (group or individual).

Annoying not to see the # of unread messages on the textra icon. I see I'm not alone in this experience--or disappointment. PLEASE FIX!

Microsoft Launcher installed on S8. Badges work for all other apps except Textra.

No notification of amount of unread texts. Just an emtpy dot on my stock Nokia 8. WhatsApp, Gmail etc all show OK

I have the pro version, and was not getting notification icons. It turns out it was a setting I missed under Nova Launcher. Once there if you look for badges the settings are there however if you don't use the dynamic type you will have to download Tesla.

No unread messages counter on the badge icon on my Nexus 6 and Moto Z2 Play (both with Android 7.1.1)
But on Samsung galaxy j7 2017 (Android 7.0) everything works fine
