    along with this suggestion is an icon that shows up on the lockscreen to notify the number of missed messages

    yes! just asked the developers for this. The notification on top too small. easy to look at Iain to see if there is new text our how many. really need this..

    This would be a great feature to implement. It is literally the only thing i like better on the stock android messaging app over textra.

    Agreed. The Android native app has this feature, but it's something that I'd really like to see in Textra as well.

    Please make a number of unread message icon for homescreen. Not having one really bugs me...

    I realise this was a while ago, but you can do this if you use the brilliant Nova Launcher (possibly pro version only, I'm not sure, but it's well worth paying for it anyway!)

    I have Textra on my home screen and I get unread counts for that along with other apps like gmail.
