Customize or reduce length of preview text
I only have one persistent grievance with Textra, and that is the obtrusiveness/size of the preview for some URLs. This is particularly an issue when someone sends me an Instagram link. The preview often shows a wall of text filling the whole screen. Much of the information included is superfluous for preview purposes, like hashtags and likes. Typically, it's a wall of hashtags that are the biggest issue.
Textra should include the ability to reduce the size of previews (potentially by choosing the max number of text characters or lines, limiting to title text only, and/or by limiting to image preview only).

One common frustration with messaging apps like Textra is the size and obtrusiveness of URL previews. When someone shares a link, particularly from Instagram, the preview can take over the screen with a wall of text. Often, this includes unnecessary information like hashtags, likes, or comments, which clutters the experience and reduces readability. Users would greatly benefit if Textra allowed customizable preview sizes, letting them display only the essential parts, such as the title or a single image.
For those looking to quickly check Instagram stories without logging in, there’s a simple solution. By using services like ____, you can paste any Instagram username to view their stories and profile easily. This approach keeps your browsing simple, fast, and secure while avoiding the overwhelming amount of information that typical previews or apps might show.
