There are some texts from unknown numbers that I'm 99% confident will be spam. For instance, if a text contains any word starting with "democra", I know it's going to be political spam; same with any number starting with 202 or 771*. Given that Textra already has the capabilities to (1) blocklist numbers and (2) differentiate contacts from unknown numbers, it seems like there's a good chance it would be trivial for them to add an advanced setting to allow us to auto-blocklist numbers and texts using pattern matching. It was trivial for me to design a couple of Tasker profiles that block the overwhelming majority of these daily political spam texts, but Tasker can only interact with notifications: it doesn't block the messages at their source, so I still get essentially phantom vibrations on my Fitbit several times a day. if my intuition is correct and this takes relatively little effort to set up, I would really appreciate this feature. Even area code blocking would be better than nothing.
