How Can I Open a CDR File Without CorelDRAW?
I recently received a few CDR files from an older design project, but I don’t have CorelDRAW installed on my current computer. I mainly needed to open the files, check what was inside, and convert them into something easier to share.
I came across the DRS Softech CDR Converter Tool, which caught my attention because it doesn’t require CorelDRAW to open, preview, or convert CDR files. The preview option is particularly useful when you have several files and want to verify their contents before converting anything.
It also supports Windows and Mac, and apparently works with CDR files created by different CorelDRAW versions. I tested the workflow with a few files and liked that I could choose the output location myself instead of hunting around for converted files afterward.
Has anyone else used a dedicated CDR converter for this? I’m curious whether others prefer using a converter or installing CorelDRAW just for occasional CDR files.
