Option to delete automaticaly messages when a number set in settings is reached

Like in the classic sms app on Nexus 5

    I am sorry but this feature is not really working automatically... we always need to press auto delete option and click on free space now button.

    No sense for me extra setting for mms. Now i have, let say, 50 smses and 20 mmses on top o the list, some mmses are really old. Can't this be configured as just one option - latest 50 messages?

    ok, where in Settings. I got v.3.29 and checked my settings and haven't found it yet.

    I definitely think I time option would help.

    I wanted the feature but it's going to really improve anything for my inbox.

    I really like the suggestion of deleting by date. I know with the stock Samsung messaging app, it caused a slowdown when an old message had to be deleted before the new one would appear.

    Just one thing, never delete locked texts. I would much like to those.

    I think age of the texts should also be a criteria for message deletion
    Also to those who didnt notice, the team started on this oct 5th so you aren't being ignored

    Noticed phone is starting to lag. Would rather it auto delete messages after limit is reached, of my choosing. Like the original message app. Might switch back if not.

    Maybe add an expiration date to texts as well...so every 6 months or so the messages will automatically delete

    I would love this feature, and it'd be awesome is you could change per contact, would love to keep more texts from my friends than say the Verizon auto texter
