This would be great. I have a conversation with 50k messages that lags noticeably. Wish I could delete every text older than six months or some set time period. I do like being able to search old messages though.

This would be an excellent feature - preferably to delete after a certain amount of time has passed (as opposed to number of messages in a conversation). Please look into this!

We can long press any message, to delete, but can't select ALL. If that was available we could unselected the last few and delete the mass.

As so many others have stayed...this should be a mandatory feature.

There already is similar functionality to delete all individuals (the double check). Doesn't exist within an individual's messages!
It should! -

I still don't understand why other texting apps can do this but this one can't. This is the most superior of all texting apps surely they can figure it out?!

Or / plus the ability to delete messages before certain time/date.
This would help me a lot. -

Come on guys! It can't be that difficult to implement this feature can it? Nobody want hundreds of old messages clogging up their phone, should we really have to keep deleting old messages manually???!!!

This is one of my favorite features of the stock HTC Sense messaging app and one of the very few things I miss in Textra.

Adding this feature would, make this app the undisputed king of SMS. I know lots of people who would install this app if this feature were available.

This feature would be amazing! I've noticed that lately slowing down my phone and besides deleting every text in that conversation which I don't want to do it's looking like that will be the only option for now

Please add this feature! All these text messages are showing down my phone and I'd like to either delete messages older than like a month or only hold a certain amount of messages per conversation and delete the old ones automatically. There could be a "maintenance period" setup where this is done once per day, I'd be very okay with that.

Textra has always been my favorite app aside from not being able to autodelete old messages. PLEASE FIX IT SOON!

I didn't realize this was not an actual feature! I downloaded textra because my stock app has problems with MMS. but it has the option to limit the number of saved SMS AND the saves MMS. I can even choose only to save X number of SMS and separately X number of MMS. So if this is a stock feature... Why can't I do this in TEXTRA? That seems silly!!

Delete after X number of days would be nice too.

Textra is hands down the best messaging app available for Android. Except for the fact that it slowly grows into a huge space hog as you use it. Please add an option to automatically delete old messages above a certain number per conversation!

No reason for my texting app to be the biggest space hog on my phone. This is so basic, every other texting app has it, and I really don't understand why this one doesn't. It's disappointing.
It sounds like such a petty thing but I will have to uninstall this app and switch if this isn't implemented. There's no reason to have thousands of messages per conversation and have to delete them 1 by 1 just to keep the app a reasonable size. -

Why isn't this already part of the app... This has been a "feature" of every single cellphone I've ever used since flip phones etc. Come on, get on it, the only other option is to delete ALL the data? If this messes up my texting enough I'm switching apps.

Yeah! Please tell the developer to add this feature!!!

Hate having to switch back to the stock app for a while to get this done.
