Please add this feature. It's slows the app down so much without it!

This feature needs to be added ASAP. My wife is a texting machine and her phone gets limited on space. Textra is hogging nearly 2gb now! Having this option would help a lot!

Agree - for an app that is advertised as light and fast - it's getting heavy and slow without this feature.

This is the reason I stopped using your app. I'm trying it again now because I still don't like the stock app on my phone but I really would like to be able to set a limit on the number of texts. Surely this can't be too difficult to include?

How is this not a thing? Get it done Textra!

the ONE main feature I miss from my previous two SMS apps! PLEASE ADD SOON otherwise I will have to abandon TEXTRA because manually deleting all these texts is NOT on my to-do list and phone has limited space.

I do not want this! I like to keep old messages. People just delete your threads

This should really be a default feature.

WHY has this not happened yet. The sheer number of messages is slowing down my phone.

Yes this would be great! I just spent 5 minutes looking through the settings before coming here to find this!

This is really needed because some people are ocd over storage and would like to control the limits

I just realized Textra isn't cleaning up new messages like my other apps always have, and now I know why it has grown to take up so much space! Please add this.

This would definitely help to keep phone from slowing down as more texts are collected.

Note, this option could be very important and welcomed for Android 4.4.+ as long as only default message app can manage the database. So if one set Tetra as default then the system's message app can't trim this long message chains.

Yes! I've think about to send this request to developers but this idea is here already.

This is definitely needed. Textra has over 9,000 messages saved. The only way I can auto-delete on Textra is by switching to my stock messing app, setting that as the default, and then enabling auto-delete. It's a one time thing to fix, but the feature should definitely be included in Textra's settings.

It definitely needs this feature. I'm getting sick of highlighting one at a time!
