Definitely would make this app top. Time consuming to delete messages individually.

Having to manage (manually select each msg in each conversation/contact) the abyss of messages just to delete the ones I don't want is time consuming. INSTEAD provide option to lock msgs to prevent auto-delete and I can mark/lock it, and auto delete sweeps all non locked msgs with the user configured msg age.

Definitely the weakest element of this app.

Yes! Give the option to auto delete once a certain number of texts are reached. Or to archive them to a location of your choice including on an sd card.

I definitely think this is a great idea because my phone begins to slow down once I have too many messages and it malfunctions when I try to delete all of them manually.

I think this is a great idea, maybe have options to delete texts when they reach 5000, 10000, or even 15000 in a conversation. Could still have option to not delete any texts but I think an option to delete them is also good

Yes. I would very much like this feature.

This would reduce the storage space that Textra uses, which is quite large after the messages start building up. Please add this feature.

If this is done, I would suggest this: add a global setting that erases messages after either a certain number of messages or a certain time elapsed since those messages were received. This would provide for more customization. Also adding an exception list (for certain contacts, i.e. significant others) so that the global rule on deleting messages doesn't apply.
To piggyback on this as well, adding an archive feature so that the app loads the first few texts of each contact and then loads the rest on demand.

Just an option to "delete all" instead of checking each one individually would be sufficient for me.

This will be only reason for me to leave textra. Hopefully they change it soon!

When I get a text message it come on the phone and disappear until I acknowledge it. Is there anyway the messages can just pop up and fade away or into the background?

It's really sad this has not been implemented yet. I just had to clear all messages because of how much of a pain it is otherwise. App data was pushing 3GB
