I just convinced my wife to switch to Android, and this is the feature she misses most! Please make it possible to mark texts as unread!

To mark a message or email as unread, you typically use the platform’s UI option (like right-click → “Mark as Unread”) or the relevant API endpoint, which updates the message’s read/unread status.

This is still needed. Apple users have it. We deserve it too!

Another decade old request that would be so easy to implement.

I'm guessing that the developers have been checked out for years, since this request has been probably the most popular consistently since 2014. Well everybody it looks like it's time to find another texting app.

This has been in the request stage since at least 2014, eight years! I can do without a lot of the recent fluff to get the mark as unread feature. Having this capability would make this app a force to be reckoned with!

absolutely necessary for inbox management. easiest way to mark messages for later handling. (could you imagine your email without this feature?)

This is the most important feature I can think of from a functionality perspective. I always have issues when receiving a text that I need to followup on but don't remember to do so since it's marked as read and there's no way to flag it to followup.

Textra is the best texting app I've found (and I've tried many) and being able to mark messages as unread would make it perfect.

I purchased Textra and love the app. Adding the "mark unread" long press seems a very simple upgrade, please do it!

I can't tell when I get a message any longer that used to come up on the front of my phone but now it doesn't come up at all, I always have to check Tetra to see if I've got a message that's not cool help!!!

I do not agree with a previous post mentioning the "pin" feature as the same as the "unread" one. In my case I use the "pin" feature to put on top of the list chats I use almost daily while the "unread" feature would be a nice way to trigger a notification a second time.

I think the message pin feature handles this need well. In my experience it's bad form to have multiple options that accomplish the same thing. I'd say it's better not to have a mark as unread feature.
