Emergency Alert System messages option
I had a tornado warning the other day. My sister's phone received an alert, but mine didn't. I realized that the stock messaging app received the alert, but since I have it disabled so I don't get dupe notifications, I didn't get the alert.
Would be great if Textra could receive these alerts. Perhaps with an option to turn them on or off. My stock messaging app has these options: Presidential alert (permanently enabled), extreme alert, severe alert, amber alert, and emergency alert test message (defaulted to off.)

I too would LOVE to have the functionality in Textra, as it is my go to text app. BUT, because of the issues having to "bounce" between it and LG's Messaging app to handle alerts I find myself considering switching back to the "weaker" app (LG's) just so I can handle the alerts easier.
Would be TRULY happy if Textra could hurry and add this capability.

Be careful what you ask for. I believe that if you have alert capability, the presidential alerts can not be disabled.
Enable what you want in the default messaging app and leave textra as the default messaging app and you will receive the alerts you have enabled.

The only reason I would want them to add emergency notifications is so that I could disable them. THANK YOU textra for not forcing these annoying alerts on us.
And for those that find these helpful I say maybe. IF they were more customizable maybe. As of now I don't need to get Amber Alerts for a missing kid that is 3 hours and almost 200 miles away. -

The Emergency Alert System is an extremely important option to have in Textra. It should be enabled as soon as Textra becomes the default messaging app, but it's not working. I have the same issue that others have reported. The emergency alerts show up in my old messaging app even though it is not the default program. I don't see any response from Textra support. Do they read these forums?

This feature is important. We had several tornado warnings this morning and Textra did not alert me. Looking at the stock messaging app on my phone, I found that I had 3 missed emergency alerts. My phone does not alert me at all if Textra is the main messaging app.

This is very important. I hate using the stock app because it's too slow but I don't want to be alone in an emergency situation and not get an alert.

I have the same problem. Multiple tornadoes in the area and no alerts. Very dangerous. I have an LG3 but my cousin still gets alerts on her Samsung Galaxy. Please fix.

Pleasee I want the option to turn it on or off, I had it off on the regular stock messaging app. I love textra and don't want to stop using it... Please add this feature

I switched back to my stock app when the amber alert went off repeatedly for hours straight, even on silent.

I have the same wish. I want to be able to turn off all emergency alerts. I don't get them on my house phone why should I get them on my cell phone.

This is really a pretty big deal... probably the most important request out here due to it's nature.
