I would really love an option to disable the automatic emoji transcription.

For example of an annoyance it produces : the smile ^^' , which looks kind of embarrassed and I use a lot, is transformed into a happy smiling face with an apostrophe after it. It changes radically the feeling I want to express.

I don't understand. Maybe this is only on iOS? On my Android, I *only* see the text smileys but would like to see emoticons!

Yes, please. Text only. It fits with the lightweight simplicity of Textra better as well.

This feature would be really great! Text emoticons express more precisely a feeling and can be way more beautiful than shiny yellow faces.
