notification sound in conversations
I know Textra "intentionally" disabled sounds while a conversation is open, but I would like this to be an actual option. I'm not always staring at the screen and I don't always exit from the app/convo. Unless I'm watching the phone I can never tell when someone responds (while convo is open). Just make it an OPTION!

Added in Release 3.19 of Textra out first week in May. Email us for an advance copy at help@textra.me if you cannot wait ;-)

All of a sudden, I can only hear that I've received a text when I'm in the text window that's sending me the text. If I'm in a different window, I don't hear the text or if I'm on a higher level or if I'm totally out of textra. I don't know if the problem is with textra or with Android? Help

This is still an issue for me. I text someone, hit the home screen or open another app and don't get notified of the reply. I have the pro-version 3.40. Thanks

There is an easy fix guys.. Download lightflow and set up to notify during call. I don't understand why textra cant add the feature.

I just bought the pro version hoping there was an advanced feature for in conversation notifications that would repeat the notification. I think that's the problem a lot of people have (including myself) is they don't notice the first notification and if the conversation is open it ignores the repeat notification settings. I want those repeated notifications no matter what, until I actually unlock my phone and view the notification.

I've got notifications turned on now for "In Conversation," and I still regularly miss texts because I get no notifications for the active conversation. Why is this so hard to fix? Frustrating.

Oh wow! So that's what was wrong. I'd checked my settings, reset and was constantly missing texts.
Now I learnt the sound was disabled if a conversation in the app was open? WTF? Bad call.
TEXTRA is great but notification sounds are really important to the functionality of the app. -

I thought it was an issue with my phone. I found this thread and see it is intentional. I'm going back to Next SMS if this isn't changed.

This is needed. On my phone I have it set to lock after 30 min. So if I press power, screen is off but it's not locked - during this time I will not hear my texts come in due to this current feature. It's a pretty big problem not hearing texts.

I don't understand why this feature has been "started" yet its not the most requested feature on the list. I don't understand why we vote on these when it appears that the votes aren't taken into consideration.
