notification sound in conversations
I know Textra "intentionally" disabled sounds while a conversation is open, but I would like this to be an actual option. I'm not always staring at the screen and I don't always exit from the app/convo. Unless I'm watching the phone I can never tell when someone responds (while convo is open). Just make it an OPTION!

Yes, I need this! I love Textra but need a notification, whether the conversation is open or not. the latest Lollipop removed this option, I downloaded Textra because someone told me it had these notifications, but it doesnt.

So very true. I press my power button to save battery and always expect a sound when someone texts back but never does because textra intentionally does this. It would be a great option to have and it would NOT be annoying

I'll add my "me too" to the chorus of frustration here. I love Textra in general but am regularly annoyed by this behavior as I miss replies to conversations.

Notice there are 53 comments and only 448 votes I think maybe just delete the app and use the version one coz a lot of ppl say u can use on any network and it has notification sound when msg are open or closed. They are never gonna fix this because we're a drop in the ocean!

This is actually a problem with the new Android lollipop update. The stock messages app does the same thing. But Textra should be able to override this and make notifications play all the time, or put a toggle in the options. I am missing many texts. Really, who did and stares waiting for another text? That's why we have notifications. Stupid move, Google.

This has gotten me in so much trouble with my boyfriend! I pick up the phone and I see a jillion messages saying "hello hello hello where are you Wth" it's awful. I hardly ever remember to back out of the conversation so needless to say we fight a lot over this stupid crap. OPTION OPTION OPTION!

This would make this app perfect if they did this. I think the Devs don't really look at these postings but look at this one it's a must have option to crown this as thee best SMS app.
