Today I got 35 messages from the DNC in different form. They worked well because it made me clear that I won't vote for them. Still I'd like this feature to be implemented. Their behavior is harassment and I would hope Textra would start protecting us from them. (I noticed that recently also gmail filters no longer work, is that because we are under electoral campaign?)

I'm leaving Textra as soon as I find a passable alternative that has this feature.

Whack-a-mole. I just want a silent block if I long-press a spam text and choose "Block". Maybe a separate tab of blocked texts so I can unblock ones that I want, and then mass-delete all the ones that I don't. How hard can this be??!!"

I get so many Spam Texts per day it makes me not want to even have a Text capability. Please allow me the option of blocking texts not on my contact list. If I can't do this soon, I'll find an App that will allow this.

Wow. Still no spam filtering option. After years of requests? No bueno Textra. Time to find another app.

Paid Pro user but I will be moving from textra if there is no way to stop spam texts.

I had been a long time user of Textra for SMS. it was very friendly and easy to use but it had one serious flaw which has caused me to not use it even though I'm a premium Pro user. It does not allow you to block number sequences and causes you to have to get text messages from area codes that constantly bombard the SMS messaging process. It also makes blocking spam text messages very difficult. I wish they would either upgrade this issue or buy a company that has it and implement it. If they put this in I would probably be convinced to go back to Textra but now I've had to not use it and unfortunately have recommended other things such as Calls Blacklist. Not as usual friendly and not as easy but in this world of spam a necessity over Textra.

Textra Pro user, still annoyed this isn't implemented. Android still doesn't seem to have a way to filter SMS without replacing the SMS app, so I'm given the two options of A, switching to a dedicated SMS app with an option to detect and filter out spam/non-contacts (Essentially giving up on Textra), or B, just ignore them and accept that this one feature is seemingly unimportant to the developers. I regret buying pro, since this feature request has been here and unaddressed for SEVEN YEARS!!

Since Sept 2020 I've been getting huge amount of spam text messages. PLEASE add this functionality ie. Block SMS/MMS not on your contact list.

I'm a paid user of Textra and I get many spam texts. I know this is due to my number being "out there" and is not the fault of Textra, but I'd like the ability to block all SMS except from contacts. Is there a way to do this and if not, are you planning on adding a feature like this? Nomorobo claims to have the ability to have a "spam" folder for texts. This would be great if you could offer something like that.

I need some SMS that might not be on my address list. I would see value in this configuration though. I would like to be able to filter by domains. I like block sms if I can add an allow list @domain.com or similar.

Also, please add a feature so people can block emails.

Please provide the ability to block messages that are not on my contact list. It's election season and I am getting text messages at all time of the day and night from people that I don't know and don't wish to speak to.

I really need this feature- mute and/or block unknown senders. The blacklist function is useless against unknown and spammers do not use the same number over and over. I am surprised Textra doesn't support this.

I don't actually want to fully block them, but I really like the "mute unknown" idea. (Actually, I want this for calls, too, but I don't suppose there's much you can do about that 😄)

Started topic back in 2014 but unfortunately textra did not give any serious attention. In today's time, spam messages have became more annoying. Kindly give a simple feature of mute all unknown number.

On this, I would say give me an option to not notify on SMS from numbers that are not in my contacts, perhaps move them to a spam folder, but they are still accessible. That way, when you are working with a company that has to send you a security code, you can still get it, but you are not annoyed by the SPAM texts at midnight!

I would like "Mark as Spam" in the options line with delete and share etc or in the drop down menu. Had this in Messages and really need it.

Really need to block sms from unknown senders. This should be corrected !
