Keep unread indicator in app if you've cleared notification for notification bar
When a user clears a Textra text notification in the notification bar/panel, it CLEARS the unread indication in the Textra app. Most often, I read the notification bar/panel item, clear it, and respond later. But with the unread indication cleared in the app, i no longer know which messages to check! All messaging apps I've used work this way, but not Textra.

This is a huge issue for me. It took me weeks to figure out what was even causing it in the first place!

I regularly miss messages for weeks because of this. Needs to be fixed if I'm gonna keep using the app.

They really need to add this because I hate having tons of notifications in the top bar. Then when I clear it my messages go read when I didn't get to reply to them yet.

Yes Please. I have missed many a text due to this. I often have a lot of notifications and sometimes "clear all". It's not an issue with any of my other apps because the app still shows which are unread even after clearing the notification.

I really wonder why it is marked as read when I clear the notification. I usually clear all notifications especially when they are a lot (news, messages, random app notifications, backups, emails, etc...) but i still want to maintain the messages status so that I know what did I read and what disappeared with the other bunch of notifications.

Please add a option to keep sms unread if we only dismiss/clear the notifications in the notification bar. This way we keep with the unread count in icon
