This is marked completed, but doesn't actually work, at least on my Sony Xperia M4 Aqua with Android 6.0.1. I have the latest version of Textra as of this writing.
Maybe it's because I'm using the default Xperia keyboard?

I agree, it's very annoying to have to keep closing the keyboard when scrolling a long text.

More than annoying. It's disruptive. When the keyboard pops up Textra becomes the subject instead of the long text I am reading. Bam! I just lost half of my screen to the keyboard. Either show a visual "last message" indicater or give option to disable auto keyboard pop up. Some people have long and involved conversations via text. The auto keyboard is death to concentration for them.

Yes, please add option (or just) disable the drag up keyboard. It's a major nuisance when scrolling through posts.
