can we please have an option to assign specific text tones to people?

On the default messaging app you can choose what text tone you want someone to have. This app Is way better than the default, if only we could assign text tones.

    Can you assign a text notification sound if contact is not in a thread within a Samsung S20+? As we all know, this cannot individually be accomplished if the contact is not in a current thread within the Android application.

    I cannot assign a specific notification sound to any of my contacts.....how I hate updates, they always screw up something that I have set up on my phone...... so NOT happy!!!

    From what I am seeing this is specific to a conversation and not a user. If I get a text from my wife that includes our son it is goes to default if I have a custom notification for my wife. So saying it is per contact seems wrong to me, or am I missing something? This is a big deal with Oreo messing up the contact list.

    I did this and accidentally choose default sound notifications for custom sound notifications instead of choosing zedge, now I can't get zedge back

    I am not getting ANY INCOMING MSSG NOTIFICATION sounds at all no matter which contact. Nor as general settings....only outgoing sent sound

    It does give you options to create ringtones to different contacts. Click on contact within Textra, click on icon at top right, then click on person icon at top once it opens, then within your default contacts you. An assign that person notifications. This will continue to be the notification no matter what app u use.

    I wanted this app but I'm hoin9to find an app that lets me use music for text ringtones. When you have that as an option I'll definitely come back.

    Any way of choosing music from the phone? I was a longtime Handcent user. I keep that app on the phone so I can have my custom music ringtones instead of the small stock list that comes with the phone.

    You can! Long-press a thread in the main view, and then you can select to customise options for that thread.

    I'd appreciate if I had the option of choosing a ringtone for geting a message
