I continue to receive duplicated text messages from people with the texts app. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z1S. why is this happening?

How to stop textra from sensing me duplicated messages. Is anyone else having this problem?

    I have the same problem. Xperia Z3 compact on T-Mobile.

    Its so irritating to receive 5 or 6 duplicate text messages especially in a group chat
