My unread counter is inaccurate still too.

It is November 2018 and this is still an issue on my Samsung s8+ - unread counter goes up to 11 with one new unread message. Part of the problem is that even though I read a message, it does not mark it as read in my inbox, regardless of how many times I try. The only thing that cleared it was to "Mark All As read" which is not a convenient solution

My impression is this is occurring when Samsung updates its message app--that's the first time I noticed it today anyway.

My unread goes from 0 to 7 with one unread message.

Can't believe this is still a problem for me. Already says I have an unread message. I mark all as read, resync, turn phone on and off and it remains.

My count is showing "1" even after resyncing and restarting device.

I have this problem also. Always shows 1 unread message. Mark all as read doesn't clear the 1.

Mine doing it too. I even tried turning off setting for displaying unread count on badge. Setting off and count still showing.
