I don't mind the ads in the free version (I sincerely hope they help the company stay afloat) but could you please put a placeholder there for that brief moment before the ad loads and pushes down the list of conversations, so I don't tap the ad instead of the first conversation in the list? this makes sense because those ad clicks are purely unintentional and don't represent any potential referral revenue but they are irritating to the user. I think you'll agree that, ideally, the ad clicks that are from legitimate interest are potentially valuable and you don't jeopardise those with this measure and instead you improve the user experience.
