intend to move from Handcent, but no search stinks!

Still nothing in last release... I removed textra. Not being able to search texts by text, or at least by contact, is extremely annoying :-(

Definite yes ! Search by text is a very basic feature and should have been available in earlier releases (don't quite get this) Do add this feature in the very next release.

This is a must needed feature.

This must happen for this app to fully own the stock message app on an s5. It's the only thing holding it back at the minute.

I came here to suggest this very thing! Ever since this was removed in the new stock Android messaging app (aka Hangouts), I have really missed it and it is extremely useful. Having it in Textra would guarantee I'd continue using it instead of Hangouts, even if all the Hangouts bugs get fixed.

This is an absolute necessity . It would also be cool if there was an option to search by regular expression. But that's just my programming side talking

Would also be awesome to quickly get to a history of mms sent. Would be very useful for me! (although maybe this would be included in search if you did one for ".jpg" or the like?)

This feature would be a fantastic addition.. who deletes messages these days? and who often need to scroll up through a million and one messages to find something important they said to someone in the past days, weeks or months?

Need this. Contents of texts as well as all texts by contact.

or even just search by contact... I.e. searching Jane brings up all text threads to Jane Adams or Jane smith... or any text where jane is mentioned
