Integrate it with Google Voice.
When you get a text message to Google Voice Textra should automatically load messages from the GV app (or, if its possible, directly from GV account) and you should be able to reply from within Textra and choose from which number to send the message from. That is you should be able to choose to either send it via GV or your carrier
Not really our thing.

I love the way textra does texts, however without it picking up my GV texts, it is useless to me. I only give out my GV and only 2 people ever text me on my direct number. Therefore this app is useless to me and others who have done the same. This wouldn't be that hard to implement and would increase your potential user base. Get with it max/textra/delicious, don't be so narrow minded.

I realize it's a couple years old now, but what a condescending answer in just four words, and for a legitimate question that's still valid in 2015. Google Hangouts incorporates Google Voice SMS messages, and if you want to position yourself as an alternative to Hangouts, you should seriously reconsider your stance.

this did work for a while - whenever I dictated a text in the car it would replicate itself in textra as having been sent. Lately things are not working that way though. Possibly to do with GV but this is integration I miss and would really like back.
