  1. custom background

    Ability to add your own picture as the background for in text and the list view separately. Also ability to do each contact with a different in app background. Go SMS already has this feature but their app has began using massive amounts of data.

  2. Wifi texting

    The ability to send/receive texts over a wifi would be a great addition to this application. Sometimes cell signal is just not available.

    WiFi texting (SMS or MMS) is down to your carrier (if they support it or not) and also down to your Android device and version. It’s not a Textra feature or anything we can or cannot do.

    It’ll either work or it won’t. Irrespective of what SMS/MMS app you use.

  3. SMS Backup Option - Export + Import Abilities

    There is a Knowledge Base article that recommends using other apps to do this. I've tried them and they have not been very reliable or visually pleasing.

    I'd love the ability to backup my texts within Textra or export a text file or .html file out that is easy to read and follow along.

    Google Drive/Dropbox support would be awesome.

    Decipher tools makes a program for IOS that exports texts+mms to html files that keep all the photos within their order. This is great if you go back and are looking for a thread or photo because you can control…

  4. Facebook like Chat Head Bubble Idea

    Simular to how Facebook has their chat heads that can open over top any app, Textra should have this idea as well. Should be dragable to any side of the screen.

    Users would have the option to use the current notification system or this. Or maybe have the current notification system and have a option button to select which conversations to pin into a chat head.

  5. To show when the person is texting. With the3 dots thingy

    Its like in an iPhone. When someone is texting you back it has the 3 little gray dot things.

  6. Smileys

    I like to see some smileys support when we get a text with a smiley. If someone sends me a happy or sad smiley which is :) or :(, I like to see the smiley icon instead of :) or :( . Not all phones have emoji support.

  7. More Advanced Notification

    When you tap the notification it would take you to the app, but when you pull down the notification instead of showing the amount of unread messages have the pull down option show the quick reply option or mark as read, like sms notifier does.

  9. Integrate it with Google Voice.

    When you get a text message to Google Voice Textra should automatically load messages from the GV app (or, if its possible, directly from GV account) and you should be able to reply from within Textra and choose from which number to send the message from. That is you should be able to choose to either send it via GV or your carrier
