Ability to delete all (Select all) messages
From the selection view where you select messages if you could then delete all, it would be great if there was a "Select all" button as well to select all messages when you want to clean up the messages.

You delete the convo instead.

I don't want to delete the condo, just certain texts. The other texts in the condo I've locked to save. Select all to delete except the locked texts is on Android SMS- made it very easy. I have to go through hundreds of texts and delete by hand. It will take hours. Yuk.

This is a bad solution, since I have texts from 2k+ numbers. How can I select all 2k unique message convos to delete at one time?

It worked for me. Locate the file you want to delete. Slide the name of the text to the right. You'll see a trash can. Tap twice, file is deleted. Also, the trash will appear at the top of the screen. Just select texts you want to delete, tap trash can twice or what you need to do, texts are deleted.
Cordially,
Bill

And if you want to select all 300 messages but unselecte the 5 last ones?

If you want to delete all the messages from a single sender, hold and slide senders name to the right. A trash can will appear. Tap on it twice. All messages will be deleted. Be sure to Lock any you don't want to delete.

Being able to select all messages for deletion would be ideal. I don't want to have to individually select every message to clean out my inbox.

the solution is not acceptable. this app needs a select all messages in thread option, so we can select the past # of messages to uncheck and delete the rest (as others have mentioned)

Swipe one message, long hold on the delete icon and you'll get checkmarks for all other message. Select which you want to delete then do so by using the menu bar trashcan icon. I just discovered this after three months of using this app! I wish work would provide an iPhone! I loathe Android!

i just want to clear out ALL messages from time to time, how do I delete ALL messages and "convos" (whatever that is)? most apps give you the ability to select messages in the list, then delete all the selected ones

@Max, I think the idea was to delete everything (all conversations) , not just one conversation. Because it's the most glaring omission in Textra

I spent 20 minutes trying to delete old messages and keep the past week old messages....... Didn't get it done. I do over 5k messages a month. It would be really great if I can have this ability per conversation. Otherwise....loooove this app!!

Some of us want just MOST messages deleted. So that option would still be nice, so you can 'select all' then deselect the ones you want to keep.

This is currently available for the overall conversations view but not for the individual messages view. If you want to delete all your messages from one conversation, you can just go back to the overall conversation view, long-click that conversation, and delete. However, it would still be great to have a Select All button in the message view like there is in the conversation view so that you could select all the messages to copy, send as email, or lock, which as of right now you have to do individually message by message.
