How to Reset Outlook View to Default When Inbox Layout Looks Messy
I recently faced a strange issue in Outlook where my Inbox suddenly looked completely different. The reading pane moved, emails were not grouped correctly, and some columns disappeared. At first, I thought it was a bug, but later I found that Outlook view settings had changed accidentally. If anyone is trying to Reset Outlook View to Default, there are a few simple ways that actually work.
The easiest method for me was opening Outlook, going to the View tab, and clicking Reset View. It instantly restored the Inbox layout back to normal. I also discovered that using the command outlook.exe /cleanviews resets all Outlook folders to their original settings. This helped fix issues in Sent Items and Calendar too.
In some cases, add-ins can also create layout problems. Disabling unnecessary Outlook add-ins improved performance and stopped random view changes. If the PST file is corrupted, though, manual methods may not help much. I used the DRS Softech PST Recovery Tool to repair damaged Outlook data files and recover mailbox items without losing folder structure. It was helpful when Outlook started crashing frequently.
