Is There a Free Way to Convert Outlook for Mac OLM Files to PDF?
I'm looking for an affordable way to save emails from an old OLM archive as PDFs. I only need a few messages initially, so I'd prefer to test a manual method before paying for a dedicated conversion application.
From what I've found, Outlook for Mac provides a manual route: import the OLM archive into Legacy Outlook, open an email, choose Print, and save it as a PDF if the option is available in the macOS print dialog. This avoids purchasing additional software, but the process becomes inconvenient when exporting lots of messages. Attachments also need separate attention.
For a larger archive, I found the Aryson OLM File Converter, which offers a free demo for evaluating the conversion process. Its features include batch file loading, mailbox preview, date filtering, duplicate detection, attachment handling, and PDF splitting. It can also export OLM data into formats such as PST, MBOX, EML, MSG, DOCX, CSV, ICS, and VCF.
I'd like to test a few emails containing different formatting and attachments before deciding whether the full version is necessary. I would also compare the generated PDFs with the original messages and check whether the attachment options suit my requirements.
Has anyone compared the manual Outlook print method with a dedicated OLM converter? For a small number of emails, would you stick with the free manual approach? And if you had hundreds of messages, which features would make a paid tool worth considering?
