Open Textra and Quick Reply buttons on notifications.
Instead of having it in settings to tap to quick reply or tap to open the thread in the app it would be awesome to have an option where you are given two buttons on the notification so you can choose if you want to go to the full app or just quick reply.
Fully configurable notification buttons added in v3.44 out now.

Why is the quick reply option not showing up in my pull down notification bar? It used to be there. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app cuz if phone issues and when I reinstalled it, it won't appear anymore. I have it turned on, but it's not there. Can anyone help with this? It's like FB messenger, they screwed that all up and now have it as a bubble and not a chathead and now if you want to message someone you have to go to the messenger app click on a person click the 3 dots click show as bubble instead of chathead and it's this stupid little bubble and b4 it was great, cuz there was a white chathead that opened up next to it and u could click on that and choose another person to talk to, now u have to leave an app ur own and keep going back to messger and choose someone else. Fb messenger was almost a perfect messenger app all they needed to do was allow us to delete more than one message at a time and now they have gone and messed it all up the complaints in the playstore are u real and now textra isn't working like it used to. What's going on with these apps?

People, you can just turn it off! In settings there are options for you.

If this is implemented, I would like it to be optional whether to have the in-notification buttons appear. Sometimes my notification feed gets so filled up with buttons and options--it makes the notification experience more attention demanding and stressful, and I prefer it to be simple.

Right now, this is an either or setting and can't be changed on the fly. Would be good to have this.

I would like to see the mark as read option in the pull down drawer/pop up notification as well as a quick reply. Simply clicking on the notification should still pull up in full app mode.

I agree, and again go SMS has that feature as well as the the private box and it wld be much easier to have a quick reply window instead of it opening the whole app especially if u r using another app or on a game at the time.

Here's an idea, just click the app to open it.

Or even make it look like the iphone quick reply. That would be amazing

Why does a "Textra Quick compose" window keep appearing in my notifications box. It's really annoying and I can't stop it. Unless I can I am going to have to ditch Textra. It keeps setting off the notifications warning.

Yes, please. Also an option to have a reply like Android N notifications (instead of the entire conversation coming up in a little box).

Yeah, i just installed Textra and I'm loving everything about it... except not being able to turn off the quick reply. Man, that's almost a game breaker for me. I might have to go to something else until its implemented.

I like Steven Yang's idea to single tap on the notification to open the app or slide down on the notification to open the quick reply. Even just adding 2 buttons in the notification drawer to do either would be great. I'm think something along the lines of Samsung's messaging app
