Open Textra and Quick Reply buttons on notifications.
Instead of having it in settings to tap to quick reply or tap to open the thread in the app it would be awesome to have an option where you are given two buttons on the notification so you can choose if you want to go to the full app or just quick reply.
Fully configurable notification buttons added in v3.44 out now.

We should be able to open the app from the notification bar when we receive messages!!!!!!! Or at least make it an option in the settings!!!!

I really just want an option back to always open the app. I usually text people that I already have a long thread with and I like to see my replies in the context of the whole thread in the app. I HATE the quick reply box because it doesn't stay open after I click send (I need confirmation that my message was sent). Going to options in the quick reply window to get to the app removes the convenience of a contact shortcut etc.

Definitely tapping the notification should open app, and the 3 buttons should suggest a quick reply, mark as read and call sender

I would like to have customizable quick replies, too, so I can tell my husband that I'm on my way or I'll call you in a bit.

I just updated to the most recent version of Textra with my new HTC M8 and there is one feature that I was used to that seems to have disappeared, and I think it's just this. I used to be able to quick reply by selecting the popup, which I like because it's very useful, but I could go to the entire app by selecting the notification in the drop down. I miss this, because now I can ONLY either quick reply from both, or go to the whole app from both. I'm not sure why the feature was removed?

If a new message comes in, option to mark it read, delete and quick reply in the notification drop dow. I was using EvolveSMS earlier, it had this feature and I got used to it... not asking to copy, but I feel it's like a basic feature that should be there for every SMS app

Yes! Very annoying to want to reply from the full app, but have to close the popup, launch the app, and tap the conversation to do so.
Also, the pop-up and reply window are presently too short to be useful.

I dont want any quick reply/compose screens. So please have the option to disable the feature completely.

This would be a great feature. Tapping the notification could open the full app, and buttons below the message could be "Reply" (opens pop-up), "Call" (calls sender), "Mark as Read" etc.

Slightly different but very similar, I would like to have the choice to open the Textra app from the popup or from the notification bar. Usually I prefer to open the popup when I tap a message in the notification bar, so I have this selected in my settings, but I would like to be able to launch Textra from that popup in addition to 'leave it' and 'done' options.
