Make it a standard setting not a per convo...often overlooked

This seems to still be an issue. By default for a group MMS a reply will go to everyone in the group. This is actually never the behavior I want, since group MMSes are used for reminders from one to many and not for many-to-many communication (in my specific case - reminders from kindergarten to all parents). When replying to a group MMS I always want the reply to go to the sender, and the sender only.

It should be possible to set this as the default behaviour, like you can in for instance stock Messaging on Xperia phones. Considering how frustrating it can be to accidentally spam lots of people with private information, I hope you can implement this feature as well.

Or... You could just turn that group chat notification off and you won't get notified because auto reply will just spam the group chat everytime someone replies adding to the problem. Or as someone said just tell the sender to stop sending it as a bulk chat, being that has to be set on the sender side..which Textra has that capability for the sender. Or blacklist the group after reply. Regardless there are already tools to handle this issue.

I'm surprised people just assumed they were replying to just the sender. I always assume the opposite (worst case). To address the OP though, one relatively simple workaround I can think of is to select the message in the chain that I'm interested in replying to and select "Forward" from the settings menu, and then enter the (typically saved) contact name of the sender, and then below the forward-copied message, just proceed to hit enter a couple of times (carriage return) and then type in my response...carriage return is just to separate out the message from my response.

I would say rather be able to switch between sms and mms " Bulk/Chat) within the text message itself! :)

The stick HTC message app had this feature so I didn't have to go into settings to change from SMS/MMS. Would be nice in Textra.

Obviously, Textra isn't interested in fixing this.

To solve this issue go to settings >MMS >MMS behavior >switch it from System to Legacy .now when your in a group chat people will no longer receive you text messages individually. They will receive text messages threw the group chat. Glad to help

Yes, yes, yes, PLEASE FIX THIS! I have tried many SMS apps and thought I'd finally found one in Textra that covered all the essential bases.

I bought the Pro version without realizing you can't select/edit the reply-to recipient list. The configuration setting for "Group Chat mode = SMS" had given me false hope. In reality, that setting only covers group messages that originate from you. That's important, but it's only half of the solution.

Please give this feature request priority, or I'll be sadly moving on to yet another app. Kudos to Delicious for all the other great features of Textra, though! Keep up the good work!

Ditching Textra if they don't fix this very soon.

Yes add this option. I hate group text's because of this limitation. Also the ability to leave a group would be awesome.

This is very important to me that we have a switch to turn on/off the reply to sender/multiple. Today again I posted a private response mistakenly to a whole group before realizing what I was doing. Please add the option.

This is one of the most frustrating things I've experienced! The app is good; however, I have had instances when I thought I was sending a personal reply and a group of people received it. Please quit dragging your feet and fix this - it can't be that hard to do since it has been a standard part of every other messaging app I've had.
