Archive Messages
Rather than just permanently delete messages, it would be fantastic if you could archive messages. This was one of the features in Google Hangouts that I used the most and found incredibly helpful.
Sometimes you want to clean up your inbox so you don't have hundreds of conversations floating around in it that you have to scroll through, but you don't necessarily want to lose some conversations forever by deleting them. The ability to Archive conversations in order to move them out of the main inbox view and into a separate archive view for later reference or search would be perfect here, and I believe would appeal to many users.
See the Google Hangouts app for more details on how this could and should work. Would love to see it in Textra! It would make it truly stand apart from the competition!

Love Textra, but after trying to adjust, I just can't keep going without an archive feature. Will switch back to Textra if this is added.

Love the app but just like everyone here has said. The main reason I don't use the app is the lacking ability to archive messages.
Please add this ability in the near future. -

I loved the app! It had everything I was looking for and more! Great layout, great features, etc... But it doesn't have archive so I deleted it. I am one who likes to have a clean inbox and not have a ton of messages in imideiate view, but I don't always want to delete them either. Archive would be fantastic! If Textra got archive, I would download it again and keep it forever!
Archive is a must!

Why does a text to provide some instructions on how to paste what you copy somewhere else just basic instruction copy delete paste and a few others it should be made available right on the screen this sucks

Only 1 option u need to add that when I want to send a message from contacts it appears always sim 2 option for sending a message.
It should show default selected sim option for sending a message like sim 1.
Over very very good and antique designing high speed sms app -

Offshoot of this idea, what if you had a window or box that you could transfer messages to which you wanted to respond to soon (eg within the next hour) but didn't have time to text right now? Because sometimes I read a message and want to respond later, only to have the 'new' counter disappear and then I totally forget to respond. Something to aid in prioritizing what needed to get taken care of within the day.

I used GO SMS for years and it had a private box for msgs you didn't want someone to see while you had the app unlocked. Also had a favorites box where you could transfer msgs to that you didn't want to lose. One of their last updates included the backup feature that allowed you to essentially archive your msgs. I would love to see these options in your app.

I get SMS texts for my shopping receipts and credit card payments. I have to switch to the Google shopping and app to archive these.
It would be great if these messages could be exported as text files to Dropbox or similar cloud app.

It would also be nice if that archive was able to be stored in a storage SD card - I'd like to be able to keep my messages but the amount of primary storage it takes is very inconvenient.

I personally wouldn't like this idea. It leaves the data for the app too huge, taking up phone space. And it will also slow down the messaging app (I know because on stock messaging app, archiving messages slows down my messaging app. I only have a few other apps installed. Also, if I delete archived messages, messaging app works flawlessly).
