Textra > Mark All as Read. Sorted

Feb 2023 TEXTRA BOT was the problem on update. My solution was to UNBLOCK blocked numbers. I'd blocked the unnecessary spamming TEXTRA BOT - now fixed, i won't update this app ever again.

Another easier fix is to hold finger on Textra, opens app settings. tab "Force Stop" then rerun textra. problem should be solved. This usually happens on first install at least I think so.

My wife had the same problem, but I THINK I solved it--at least for now. I just went into SETTINGS (phone/Android, not Textra), clicked on Notifications, and turned off notifications for Textra. I then exited Settings and closed Textra. I then went back into Settings > Notifications, turned back on notifications for Textra, exited Settings, and re-opened Textra. Notification dot GONE!
To test it I sent a test text to my wife's phone. The notification dot appeared as it should. I then opened the text in Textra, then closed Texta, and the notification dot disappeared, as it should. SUCCESS! Now, what will happen over time? Unfortunately, I left my crystal ball at the office, so I can't say. It's working for now.
My wife is using a Moto 7? g Power, Android 10, Textra 4.34.

Thanks! Blocking and unblocking the chat worked but I have two other problems: Should we do the same with all the chats each time we get an sms? and for me my notification ringtones also stopped! Also this can't be something only related to their newest version since my phone has been off since March 2020 and now in Nov 2020 I turned it on without updating and was struck by that problem. Are they going to fix this bug or do we have to choose a new messaging app?

Two things
1) The. Help section says it's a bug in the 5.0 upgrade.
2) On android phone I did a force stop and then re-opened the app and it cleared.

Truth! I was starting to discover I have some sort of mental imbalance because of this. I'm glad I found this.

i agree! no matter what i do i keep getting the notification popping back up. i'm close to dumping this app and trying something else.

I have just found the cause of this after a while of frustration. It was a photo that failed to send, even though i resent it I had to delete the failed attempt and it's fixed

My TEXTRA app shows 1 text received, all the time. Notifications admonishes: "your texting app has a temporary MMS problem."

Always says I have 1 message lately. Seems like it is for ads. MAKE IT STOP!!!

Same issue. If I restart my device, the icon marker goes away. About a minute later it appears again.

It used to do it now all of a sudden it doesn't do it. I've uninstalled, re installed didn't work

Maybe it's because we don't have the paid version and they want us to read the ads?

I don't see a solution as to why the ICON shows an unread text when there is none. You can't BLACKLIST an ICON!

The blacklist then unblacklist worked for me, thanks anonymous user!!!
