   I'm having this problem as well. I searched the knowledge base and one answer is to turn off any lock screen apps. I am not running any (but I searched anyway). I am running Nova Launcher.

   I have notifications set to never repeat. This appeared to happen after I changed that setting and then changed it back.

   Either way, every time I get a text, it beeps and beeps until I can get to it. It used to work perfectly with this same ringtone; one beep and that was it. Now it's very frustrating!
