    Matt had explained, "If you go to Settings in Textra and scroll down to the section with the subheading 'Sending' the first option is a toggle switch to turn on and off Send Using Enter."

    As suggested, I did turn on the option to 'send' messages using 'enter' on an external keyboard. This worked perfectly for me, since I can still use 'shift-enter' for 'new line' (that is, to add a new paragraph line). I am using the Logitech K480 keyboard, and this is very beneficial.
