Just in case they are folks who are still trying to figure this out, here is how you do it. Do a search in your contacts for the name of your group. If you didn't name your group don't worry, the number of people in your chat is substituted for not naming your group. Enter that number in your search, now will be able to see the icon to add more people to your chat. Hope this helps

If you customize the name of your group MMS you can do this: tap new message icon, search for your group MMS name, select it, and you should see icon to add members. Only works if you've customized the group MMS name. Works for single-contact threads as well but you have to start bt tapping new msg icon, then select the contact, and tap icon to add members. Option to add does not appear if you simply open an existing thread. Agree this should be an added feature!!!
