    Figured out the issue where my wife wasn't showing up. There's the following setting in Textra: "Mobile Contacts Only: When composing a new message, only show mobile contacts". My wife's mobile number in Google contacts was labeled not as "Mobile" but as "Verizon". Once I updated it so her mobile number was labeled as "Mobile", she started showing up. Hope this helps someone else.

    It's actually close to the favorites in google contacts, but not the same. My wife isn't showing up, but she's clearly defined in google contacts as a favorite.
