I thought this was a feature already - since I just customised my girlfriend's message thread to have high priority (sound during calls and silent mode). I've not yet tested it, so perhaps it's up to the phone/UI to permit it.

I know that Huawei's EMUI can be a bit stubborn in places, for example - even if you are running a different launcher.

Use Light Flow can set up sounds, custom vibration, etc

MUST have notification sound for each and every message, in conversation, out of conversation, out of the room whatever. It's stupid not to have this as standard default. I'll be dropping Textra until this is corrected ... if ever ... since it's been complained about for some time and still remains the same.

I believe this problem comes from the phone, not the application

They really need to put this option in. Like its a must. Especially if your waiting for a important text and you get a call. I have missed so many important texts. Please add this gesture soon

Haven't heard back --- Verizon Messaging Plus has in-call notification. How hard can it be?

I want a notification for every message I get. Regardless if I'm on the phone or looking at the conversation at the moment it comes in. I am a pro user and this "feature" is the single most irritating... Almost enough for me to stop using textra

Yes...I NEED this..I Been missing messages. Note 4 can do many things at once. I textra and do other stuff. Come back and the person has left 10 messages which usually end up in a F U !

Agreed... the "option" to receive notifications while on calls is necessary... my kids only text and I miss important info from them if I'm on a long call. I shouldn't have to stay off my phone just to wait to see where my kids need me to pick them up and at what time. So far, this is the ONLY thing I've found that is missing from Textra.

How this is not standard is mind blowing. I have missed tons of texts, some important while on a call. When this is implemented I will be back

like everyone else I miss important texts when on a call. a beep or tone while on a call would be AWESOME

Please add a notification SOUND or prominent vibration when receiving a text during a call. there have been many times i have missed important texts while on a call because there is barely any noticeable notification. thank u!

This isn't in there already? Oooh this is important. I didn't realize calls were blocking this notification (a subtle beep would be best or being able to choose it seperate from the main notification)
